The Engadine Schools will be closed on Friday.
The following message is from Engadine Schools posted Thursday afternoon.
This is to inform you that Engadine Consolidated Schools will be closed this Friday, October 22, 2021, due to staff illness and a resulting shortage of substitute teachers to fill thesevacancies.
I am also informing you that we are experiencing an outbreak of Hand, Foot and Mouth disease, which is a highly contagious illness that results in blistering on the hands, feet and in the mouth, soreness of muscles and fever. At this time, we ask that you monitor your children for symptoms and consult your family doctor if you have concerns. For further information about signs and symptoms, the following website will provide details on what to look for: https://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/index.html.
In addition, we are also seeing continued reporting of positive Covid 19 cases in the school. Furthermore, we are experiencing seasonal illnesses among our student population and we ask that if your child has not been fever-free, diarrhea-free or vomit-free for at least 24 hours without medication to control such issues, that you keep them home from school.
Therefore, all preschool through 12th grade instruction will be cancelled for tomorrow so staff may disinfect and sanitize the building. School will resume on Monday, October 25th.
