The Healthy Youth Coalition of Marinette & Menominee Counties (HYC) was recently awarded multiple grants for
substance use prevention projects within the two counties.
The Provident Health Foundation awarded the coalition $22,500 to fund distribution of alcohol fridge locks to parents, an alcohol and other drug prevention guest speaker for five local schools, our youth-led media campaign, and vape detectors. The M&M Area Community Foundation also granted $8,500 in total between two grant cycles to HYC for additional vape detectors in the schools.
We are very thankful to both foundations for supporting the prevention work of the Healthy Youth Coalition and to all our local school districts for allowing our organization to work with their students to decrease youth substance use in ou community.
