The Baraga County Economic Development Corporation (BCEDC) sponsored a Business after Hours on Wednesday evening to kick off their 2022 Fundraising Campaign.
Board Chair, Mark Masticate, opened the evening speaking about how critical funding is to sustain the economic development services that the EDC currently provides across the county. The public-private partnership’s mission is “to be the conduit for collaboration in the pursuit of economic development and prosperity in Baraga County.”
The event concludes with several lead donors making check presentation to officially launch the campaign. From the private sector, Superior National Bank and Baraga Telephone both handed Chairman Massicotte $2,000 checks.
Lastly, the EDC’s largest public sector supporter, the County of Baraga, had Board Chairman Bill Rolof on hand to present their $10,000 investment to the EDC. He then commented, “The Baraga County Board supports the EDC and its public-private partnership as economic development is critical to our county.
The EDC is working to grow our current businesses and their workforce together with attracting new business to our area.”
Chairman Rolof continued, “the EDC is also working with WUPPDR on solutions for the current housing issues. The EDC is always looking for new members, comments and suggestions on how to better Baraga.”
