An 18-year-0ld Escanaba man was arrested Tuesday afternoon in what police call a carjacking incident on the city’s south side. Escanaba Public Safety says the call came at 1:30 about an accident on South 7th Street, with the vehicle hitting a power pole and then taking off.
Police eventually found out that the car was stolen and was somewhere in Ludington Park. They closed off the entrance to the park and found the suspect near the beach house on Aronson Island. He was arrested on carjacking charges and was lodged at the Delta County Jail.
