The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesdauy 16,445 new coronavirus cases for the past week, an average of 23-hundred-49 cases per day. They also report 149 new deaths.
These are a combination of confirmed and “probable” cases and deaths.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, cases that are reported are all confirmed (probable cases are listed separately). There were 441 new cases reported in the past week across the U.P., with a quarter of them (115) in Marquette County.
There were four new COVID deaths in the U.P.: one each in Marquette, Dickinson, Chippewa, and Houghton Counties.
Delta, Iron, and Gogebic counties are listed as “high transmission” by the CDC. Baraga, Chippewa and Mackinac are listed as “low”, while the rest of the U.P. is listed as “medium” transmission levels.
