Today, the Gretchen Whitmer for Governor campaign announced raising more than $2.4 million for her re-election campaign during the post-primary fundraising period from July 18 to August 22, 2022.
Grassroots momentum behind the campaign continues to build, with more than 94% percent of donations totaling $200 or less and contributions from more than 10,900 Michiganders.
“Governor Whitmer has a proven track record of bringing people together to make progress on the issues that matter most to Michiganders – from cutting costs for hardworking families and strengthening public education to creating good-paying jobs and fixing roads and bridges,” said Maeve Coyle, Gretchen Whitmer for Governor communications director. “Our campaign is proud to have strong support from Michiganders across the state who are fired up to re-elect Governor Whitmer so she can continue working with anyone to deliver on kitchen table issues.”
With overwhelming support coming from small-dollar donations, the campaign has broken fundraising records and has $14 million cash on hand.
