The Bissell Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” event will be held the first week of October across the country, with the goal of finding adoptive homes for as many pets as possible.
Locally, the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter, or “Upaws”, will be one of the shelters taking part. Fees will be waived to adopt dogs, cats, and small critters, between October 1st and 8th.
The BISSELL Pet Foundation is sponsoring the costs.
How the Event Works at UPAWS:
• View adoptable animals on our shelter website and then schedule an appointment to come to UPAWS in person to meet the pets.
• Meet & greets/adoptions are done by appointment only for this event.
