The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed another new member to their ranks of over 400 members: Dickinson Amateur Hockey Association. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate.
DAHA has been in the Iron Mountain area for 46 years. They are a non-profit youth hockey organization serving young athletes from ages 4-14. As members of District 8 of the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association, their teams travel to and host opponents from Houghton, Hancock, Calumet, Iron River, Escanaba, Manistique, Marquette, Tahquamenon and Munising.
Their athletes take part in fundraising throughout the season to assist with annual costs and have the opportunity to participate in off-ice training, tournaments both hosted and away, complimentary goalie clinics and USA Hockey Reffing certification.
Many of their athletes aspire to develop their skills to advance their careers to high school and beyond. DAHA offers youth hockey, Learn to Play and “Try Hockey for Free” through USA Hockey. DAHA encourages their community to visit Mountain View Ice Arena on any weekend November through March to support their athletes.
