The City of Escanaba Recreation Department accepted two grant awards from the Hannahville Indian Community for supporting the Catherine Bonifas Civic Center After School Program and the installation of new flooring at the Catherine Bonifas Civic Center.
“Working with the Hannahville Indian Community and their continued support to the Recreation Department and the Catherine Bonifas Civic Center is a wonderful partnership,” said Recreation Director Kim Peterson.
The After School Program is for youth in 4th to 12th grades and allows youth to utilize the gameroom, gym, laptops, wi-fi, board games, take a book program, have a snack/food, distribution of hygiene items and school supplies all within a supervised environment.
The After School Program is Monday to Friday 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 12:00 – 6:30 p.m.
The Catherine Bonifas Civic Center also has three meeting rooms that can be rented out during operational hours. If anyone has questions on the room rentals, they can contact the Recreation Department at (906) 786- 4141.
