An Escanaba firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling a garage fire Saturday afternoon.
Public Safety says the call came in at just before 1:00 Saturday afternoon to come to 3701 North 18th Road. When crews got there, they saw heavy smoke coming from the garage, and there was a motor home inside the garage. They believe the fire was caused by the motor home being left running and a wood stove nearby being used to burn garbage. Those barrels of garbage were near the motor home’s exhaust, and it appears that combined to start the fire.
No details on the nature of the injury to the firefighter.
