Semi Truck Hits Snow Drift On US-41, Goes Into Ditch in Ishpeming Twp.

A semi truck crashed on a snowy stretch US-41 in Ishpeming Township Saturday afternoon.

Marquette County Sheriffs Deputies say it happened at just after 1:00 in the afternoon on US-41 near County Road 496 when the 48-year-old driver from Mass City hit a snow drift in the highway and lost control of the semi. The semi went into the ditch, and the trailer blocked the westbound lane of the highway.

There was a fuel spill, which was cleaned up by West Ishpeming Auto Value. No word on any injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
