Marquette County Habitat for Humanity will celebrate the journey of Miranda Kramer with the dedication of the 109th Habitat home on Friday at 1:30pm at 56 County Rd 510, Negaunee.
The path to homeownership for Miranda Kramer began with her approval as a partner family in April of 2022. A partner family must demonstrate a need for safe, affordable housing and be willing to partner with Habitat, including putting in 250 sweat equity hours, or invested time, into the project. Groundbreaking happened in June 2022 and construction commenced. True to all Habitat builds, the organization hosted multiple local and out-of-town volunteer groups and it was with their many hands, including Miranda’s, that walls were raised, windows installed, and interiors were finished.
This spring saw the last of the to-do list checked off and where once there was an empty lot, now stands an affordable, decent and energy efficient home; the 109th home that Marquette County Habitat for Humanity has built in over 30 years of operations. Stop by the dedication for cake, refreshments and a ceremony to mark the beginning of the homeownership journey for Miranda Kramer.
