The Salvation Army of Marquette County’s Emergency Disaster Service has been reaching local flooding victims with clean-up supplies, bottled water, food, and snacks.
“We are continuing to prepare to distribute more flood kits, cleaning supplies, and water, and offering spiritual & emotional care to those that we are serving,” said Captain Matthew Darrow. Representative Jenn Hill was on site to observe operations and to observe how the area has been affected by the flood waters and to see how the state government is able to help those affected.
A total of 86 families have been served thus far throughout Marquette County. Efforts will continue through Saturday.
In conjunction with the Marquette County Emergency Management Coordination and the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army is coordinating efforts to meet the needs of those affected by the rain and sudden snow melt left from the May snowstorm. Efforts have been made in Republic, Gwinn, and Munising areas.
If families are in need of assistance, they should contact 211 with their needs.
