A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Dickinson County after police got a tip that he had made a threat against two local schools, either the Woodland Elementary Schol or the North Elementary School.
Details are sketchy, but Iron Mountain Police say the tip was received by the Michigan State Police over the weekend, alleging that the man was threatening the schools during their upcoming “Spirit Week” activiries. The nature of the threat has not been made public, nor has the name of the man.
The tip came in at around 4:00 CST Sunday afternoon, and two hours later, police got the court’s permission for a warrant.
Officers found the man at around 10 p.m. Sunday, inside his home in Iron Mountain. The man was lodged in the Dickinson County Jail, and authorities are not releasing any more information until he is arraigned in Dickinson County District Court.
