A 13-year-old Norway boy who was reported missing on Friday afternoon was found safe and sound on Saturday.
The Norway-Vulcan Schools posted on their Facebook page that the boy, identified only as “Kaden”, was found safe at about 11:00 Saturday morning in the town of Vulcan, near St. Barbara’s Church. It appears that a DNR officer found him and returned him to his family unarmed.
The Norway City Police Department, in a Saturday night, confirmed that the teen had been found safely.
At one point late Friday night, some 300 volunteers searched the area near Fumee Creek after the school district made an on-line appeal for people to search for the teen. First responders from both sides of the U.P.-Wisconsin border also helped in the initial search, which was called off late Friday night.
No details about the boy’s initial disappearance have been released.
