The Holman Family Fund, a Donor Advised Fund administered by the Community Foundation of Marquette County, granted $20,000 to three different organizations. Those organizations include:
$5,000 in funding for Bay Cliff Health Camp, in memory of Dr. Tom Huffman
$5,000 in funding to the Michigamme – Spurr EMS/Fire Department, to help with the purchase of a search and rescue boat
$10,000 to Superior Connections, a recovery community organization to assist with the creation of a new sober living house
“We are thrilled to announce these generous grant dollars from the Holman Family Fund” said Zosia Eppensteiner, Community Foundation of Marquette County CEO. “Through these grants, we are able to make a profound impact in the lives of our friends and neighbors.
This partnership between the Foundation, the Holman Family Fund and Bay Cliff Health Camp, the Michigamme – Spurr EMS/Fire Department, and Superior Connections exemplifies the power of collective action and demonstrates how working together can create lasting change in our community”
Eppensteiner, continued. “When you establish a donor advised fund with the community foundation you have the opportunity to recommend grants to charitable organizations targeting the issues you care about most. Grant awards are issued to non-profit organizations in the name of your fund. It’s a simple, powerful, local, and highly personal approach to giving.”
