On January 31st at about 4:00pm, Deputies with the Delta County Sheriff’s Office attempted to make a traffic stop on LL Road in Nahma Township.
The driver of the vehicle, Brandon Dickerson, was wanted on several warrants. Dickerson failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated. Deputies attempted to disable Dickerson’s vehicle with Stop Sticks but were unsuccessful. The pursuit continued down US-2 and then north on Z Rd for about 10 miles.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop and a female occupant and her 5 year old daughter exited the vehicle.
At this time it was discovered that Dickerson had jumped out of the moving vehicle at a corner and the female passenger had taken over driving. Dickerson was located a short time later hiding in the woods by an MSP K9 unit with assistance from an MSP Drone.
Dickerson was taken into custody on multiple charges and remains lodged in the Delta County Jail. Criminal charges are being sought on the female subject and her daughter has been removed from her custody. Deputies were assisted by the Michigan State Police, Alger County Sheriff’s Office, US Forest Service LE, and Child Protective Services.
