It appears the cause of the fire that destroyed Escanaba’s Stonehouse Restaurant back on December 21st was electrical.
Escanaba Public Safety has concluded its investigation, and they say the blaze originated in the ceiling joists of a basement storage room.
They suspect a malfunction of either wiring or electrical equipment. There is no evidence of arson, they conclude.
