The Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) assisted the newly-formed Marquette Harbor Rotary Club with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 16, 2025, celebrating the merger of two longstanding Rotary clubs in Marquette.
The event commemorated the official unification of the Marquette Breakfast Rotary Club and the Marquette West Rotary Club into one dynamic organization dedicated to service, fellowship, and community impact.
This new chapter combines the strengths and legacies of both clubs to better serve the Marquette community and beyond, while embracing the global mission of Rotary International to promote peace, goodwill, and service above self.
The Marquette Harbor Rotary Club will continue to uphold the cherished traditions of its predecessor clubs, including two cornerstone fundraising events:
- Fish Boil 2025 – scheduled for June 14, 2025
- HarborFest 2025 – set for August 21–23, 2025
These signature events will bring together residents, visitors, and supporters to celebrate Marquette’s vibrant summer, waterfront culture, and the Rotary spirit of giving back.
“The merger of the Marquette Breakfast Rotary Club and the Marquette West Rotary Club into the Marquette Harbor Rotary Club marks a new era of collaboration and impact for people of action,” said Fran Finley, Co-President of the Marquette Harbor Rotary Club, alongside Andrew LaCombe. “Our combined efforts will allow us to extend our reach of ‘service above self’ and increase the difference we can make in our community and around the world.”
Rotary International, founded in 1905, unites people from all walks of life who are committed to creating positive change. The Marquette Harbor Rotary Club continues this mission through service projects and initiatives that address issues from education and healthcare to the environment and economic development.
As part of this new chapter, the club welcomes new members who are passionate about making a difference. Those interested in joining a network of professionals committed to meaningful service and personal growth are encouraged to reach out.
