The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect until 9:00 Monday.
Southwest winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 25 miles per hour, combined with relative humidity as low as 28 percent, has raised the risk for wildfires across the Upper Peninsula. Forecasters say that any fire that develops will spread quickly.
So outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are creating dangerous wildland fire conditions.
Campfires, outdoor grills, smoking materials, fireworks, chain saws, and all-terrain vehicles all have the potential to throw a spark and ignite a dangerous and destructive fire.
