The Roman Catholic Diocese of Marquette announces the ordination of Dcn. Zack Mazurek to the priesthood.
Dcn. Mazurek is scheduled to be ordained on Friday, June 6 at 3:30 p.m. ET at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette.
Bishop John Opoku-Agyemang of the diocese of Konongo-Mampong in Ghana will be the principal celebrant, with Bishop John Doerfler and several priests of the diocese concelebrating.
Dcn. Mazurek has been studying at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. He is from Bessemer, Mich., and is the son of Jerry and Angie Mazurek. His home parish is St. Sebastian in Bessemer.
He also extends an invitation to anyone considering attending the ordination Mass: “If people have never been to an ordination Mass before, I would encourage them to come, whether it’s my ordination or a future ordination, because it is something that is so powerful to witness.”
The ordination Mass is open to the public. A light reception will take place in the cathedral hall following the Mass.
Livestream video will be available and archived at dioceseofmarquette.org/livestream.
