The Community Foundation of Marquette County is excited to announce that a new fund has been established to support the Noquemanon Trail Network (NTN).
Through the generous support of local donors, Cary Gottlieb and Carol Gamber, in memory of their friend and trail advocate, Rob Schmeling, the Noquemanon Trail Network (NTN) Designated Endowment Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Marquette County, will support trail development projects, ongoing maintenance, signage, conservation efforts, and the many other efforts of this beloved local nonprofit to encourage year-round use of the trail system.
“We could think of no better way to honor Rob’s memory than helping support the woods and trails he loved with a forever gift”, said Gottlieb and Gamber.
“Investing in trail maintenance is one of the most effective ways to give our trails a future”, says Lori Hauswirth, Executive Director of the NTN. “We hope to pass this world-class experience to future outdoor enthusiasts.”
“For us, our trails are more than just paths through the woods – they’re lifelines for community health, tourism, and local pride”, shares Jeni Kilpela, Community Outreach Coordinator with the NTN, “This fund ensures that our trails can be enjoyed not just today but maintained for generations to come.”
According to Zosia Eppensteiner, CEO of the CFMC, “We are grateful to partner with NTN, made possible by the generosity and vision of our donors, to create a lasting way for others to support the care and preservation of this local trail network.”
