The two men who were found dead June 8 at a campsite on Isle Royale National Park have been identified as 30-year-old Bradley Baird and his 60-year-old father, John Baird.
They were from Northville in suburban Detroit and officials in the Upper Peninsula say murder-suicide is suspected in their deaths, but it is not known which one killed the other. Keewenaw County Prosecutor Charles Miller told elected officials this week that the county had no legal standing to deny the release of their identities.
The National Park Service had instructed the county not to do that, saying it could hamper their investigation.
