Eleven people were seriously injured in a stabbing Saturday at a Walmart in Traverse City.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea says a 42-year-old man is in custody for what appears to be a random act. The suspect was identified on Sunday as 42-year-old Bradford James Gille of Cheboygan County. Shea says they don’t yet have a motive for the stabbings.
The attack happened Saturday afternoon when the suspect entered the store and began stabbing people with a folding knife in the checkout area. The sheriff said bystanders helped capture the man who was arrested within minutes. The FBI is assisting in the investigation.

As of this afternoon, Munson Medical Center has reported the following conditions for the eleven individuals injured:
2 patients remain in serious condition
8 patients are listed in fair condition
1 patient has been treated and released
0 patients are in critical condition
