A suspected drunk driver was arrested on Saturday after allegedly hitting a Super One Foods enmployee in the parking lot and then fleeing from pursuing police.
The Marquette County Sheriff says the incident happened at just after 11:00 in the morning. When the deputy pulled the vehicle over near Discount Tire, the officer could smell liquor.
The car then took off down the highway, eventually hitting a cement roundabout, and then down County Road 510. When the vehicle finally stopped, the suspect then ran away. A citizen helped deputies take the man into custody. His name has not been released.
The suspect, deputy, and employee all were given medical attention. The suspect is charged operating while intoxicated, fleeing and eluding police, and resisting arrest…and more charges are possible.
