The Michigan Snowsports Industries Association is pleased to announce that the Cold is Cool Passport, which allows 4th and 5th graders to ski free, is officially available for the season. Families looking to keep their kids active, healthy, and smiling all winter long now have an easy and affordable way to enjoy Michigan’s slopes together.
The Passport provides each participating student with up to three free lift tickets at more than 25 ski areas across the state, along with added discounts for parents and guardians. The digital app costs only $30, and the value families receive in return is tremendous. It is a simple way to get kids outside and moving during the months when many tend to retreat indoors.
“Kids learn healthy habits when they are having fun,” said Mike Panich, Executive Director of MSIA. “The Cold is Cool Passport gets them active and engaged during the winter and it gives families an affordable way to spend time together on the snow.”
The program is known for helping create lifelong skiers and snowboarders. Whether a family is new to the sport or already makes winter a priority, the“Passport offers students a low pressure way to explore the slopes. The program is open to any 4th or 5th grader and there is no residency requirement.
For families who want to make the most of winter, or simply want a reason to embrace the season, the Cold is Cool Passport offers a straightforward way to get kids outdoors without stretching the budget.
The Passport is available now at goskimichigan.com.
