Power restoration crews continued nearly non-stop on Tuesday, but electricity has not been restored for hundreds of Marquette-area residents and businesses. The blizzard Sunday night and most of Monday hit the area hard, with 28 inches of snow reported at the National Weather Service office in Negaunee Township.
Northern Michigan University postponed the men’s and women’s basketball games that were scheduled for Thursday because of power outages on campus. Those games will now be played on Sunday.
A number of “warming centers” have been set up in the Marquette area to help people who have no power stay warm, and to charge up their devices. Those centers and their hours are posted below.
