Classes at the Bessemer Area Schools were canceled Monday after a bomb threat was received by the high school principal via voicemail. Police did a room-by-room search of both the high and elementary schools after the threat was received on Sunday. A bomb sniffing dog was also deployed early Monday morning. Police declared the building safe shortly after ten Monday morning.
School officials say classes will be open for normal operations on Tuesday.
