The Michigan State Police and multiple other local emergency crews responded this afternoon to a crash between a truck and a train in Delta County.
The accident happened on M-35 and 26th Lane in Brampton Township. State police say that one man and one woman who were in the truck suffered serious injuries, and were taken to the hospital by Rampart EMS ambulance.
State police say that a preliminary investigation shows that the pickup truck was trying to cross the railroad tracks at a private crossing and failed to yield to the oncoming train, which resulted in the crash. The crew aboard the train were not injured.
