The Island Resort & Casino continues to rank among the best of the Native Midwest by Casino Player Magazine, in 23 categories that encompass the areas of gaming, hotel and resort amenities.
First place honors awarded to the Island included Promotions, Video and LIVE Poker, and “Best Golf Course” for Sweetgrass Golf Club, an 18-hole championship course now in its eleventh year.
“This reflects positively on us as a resort destination,” said Tony Mancilla, General Manager of the Island Resort and Casino. “Customers remembering their trips here – their time on our gaming floor, in our hotel and playing golf—means we’re meeting our goal of providing outstanding customer service and an offering an experience that customers truly enjoy.”
While many awards centered around gaming – dealers, tournaments, slots and games like bingo, poker and roulette – other awards focused on the Island’s accommodations, including hotel lobby, staff, rooms, suites and pool.
Still relatively new on the list of amenities, the Drift Spa (added in 2016), garnered a second-place win, proving to be a popular place for massages, facial treatments, manicures, pedicures and other salon services.
“We’ve been working hard to expand the customer experience beyond the gaming floor,” said Mancilla, “giving people reasons to choose the Island as a destination and likewise, reasons to return again and again.” This if further evidenced by the Island’s nine Dining and Nightlife awards announced earlier in 2019.
