The M&M Area Community Foundation (MMACF) announced today it has received a significant donation to the Future Fund endowment. The Fund provides an automatic $50 savings account to all kindergarten students throughout Marinette and Menominee Counties.
At a check presentation event and reception held today at the KK Integrated Logistics office in Menominee, Cynthia Kuber presented Foundation Board President Dan Ward with a donation of $176,750, confirming their business and family pledge to the Future Fund. The KK Integrated Logistics contribution will fund savings accounts for every kindergarten student for the first five years of the Future Fund program.
“Obviously we are thrilled with the Kuber family’s generosity and leadership”, Ward said. “This contribution provides a solid base upon which to build our children’s future. But, we are not done yet. The Foundation’s goal is to raise $1,000,000 by the end of this year for this endowment.”
The Future Fund enrollment process will be managed by the MMACF, school districts and participating savings institutions which include Nicolet National Bank, Stephenson National Bank & Trust, Peshtigo National Bank, Delta County Credit Union and mBank. School districts will share more information on the opening of accounts with parents in the coming months.
“It is our hope and intention that this Future Fund endeavor will create more opportunity and capacity for children and families in Marinette and Menominee Counties. Our family values education at all levels. It is a priority in our charitable activities so the Future Fund is a perfect fit,” Cynthia Kuber stated.
The MMACF’s Future Fund is modeled after Children’s Savings Accounts programs which have been established in over sixty-five communities across the United States. The Future Fund is designed to encourage hope, build savings, assist with career training/post-secondary education expenses, and increase financial literacy among area youth. Future Fund accounts will grow by additional deposits from the MMACF during the students’ K-12 school career as well as interest earned on the accounts.
The MMACF encourages community support and philanthropy for the growth and expansion of the Future Fund endowment. For more information on how to give back to our communities via the Future Fund, please contact MMACF Executive Director Paula Gruszynski at 906-864-3599. Checks for this fund may be mailed to the MMACF at 1110 10th Avenue, Suite L-1, Menominee, MI 49858.
