An Upper Peninsula man was killed by a driver in a construction zone in Grand Rapids last Thursday.
Grand Rapids Police have identified 60-year-old Ronald Matthew Hughes from Escanaba as the worker hit and killed on Hall Street in Grand Rapids.
Officers say a woman drove through construction zone barriers, trying to get around a “lane closure” sign that was set up to divert traffic.
Hughes as he was trying to get back onto his work truck when he was hit so hard that he flew about 75 feet into the air on impact. The investigation continues.
