On November 1st, 2019 at 10:31am, troopers from the Gladstone Post were dispatched to a crash involving a semi on US 2 near 24.5 Ln. in Nahma Twp. Investigation at the scene revealed, the driver of the semi-tractor and trailer was traveling eastbound on US 2. The driver of the semi is a male subject from Wisconsin, and he was hauling hot tar.
The driver travelled into the ditch on to the southside of US 2. Bystanders assisted the driver by starting CPR until first responders arrived on scene. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash. Investigation continues into the cause of the crash.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Nahma Twp. Fire Department, Rampart EMS, Garden Twp. Fire Department, Tri-Star EMS, MDOT, and Gene’s Towing.
