The Upper Peninsula Power Company is dealing with several thousand power outages Sunday aftermoon.
The UPPCO outage map shows 2,447 customers without power in Marquette County as of 3:55 p.m., with most of them in the Ishpeming area and in the southern part of the county, where more than a foot of wet, heavy snow has fallen. It’s also being blown around by 20 mile per hour wind gusts.
UPPCO also had a little more than 200 customers without power in Alger County and a few scattered outages in the western U.P.
Cloverland Electric Co-op in the eastern U.P. had about 250 outages this afternoon. While some of our earlier outages have been restored, we have an additional outage affecting Trout Lake, Brevort and Bruce townships. The co-op says that crews are working to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.
We Energies also had about 250 outages in Dickinson and Menominee Counties as of 3:00CT.
Alger-Delta Co-op had 523 outages as of 4:00 ET, with most of them in Menominee County.
