This update today from the Iron County Sheriff on last week’s discovery of a dead inmate inside the Iron County Jail:
On 01/11/2020 at approx. 7:50AM an inmate at the Iron County Correctional Facility was discovered deceased in his cell.
The inmate is identified as Jonathan Joepaul Parker, he had died of an apparent suicide.
The Michigan State Police were requested to do an independent investigation of the death, the investigation is ongoing and no other details can be released at this time.
