On 02-04-2020, at approximately 9:17 PM, deputies from the Iron County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a personal injury snowmobile accident on Trail 113, south of Superior Ave in the City of Crystal Falls. Preliminary investigation showed that the operator of the snowmobile was traveling north on Trail 113 and failed to negotiate a curve, striking a tree, and was thrown from his snowmobile. The driver, a 42-year-old Crystal Falls man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Michigan State Police Accident investigators, Iron County Search and Rescue, Aspirus EMS, Nash Funeral Home, and the Iron County Central Dispatch.
