The Marquette City Fire Department was dispatched to the Carp River off of Cliff Dow Road for an Ice Rescue.
The call came at about 1:00 Sunday afternoon. As fire crews arrived Central Dispatched confirmed that there was one woman in the water holding onto an ice shelf. A Third alarm was struck for Marquette City Fire Dept and Marquette county 131 , US Coast Guard, and Chocolay Township Fire were dispatched.
The woman was safely extricated from the water shortly after arrival and the incident was down graded canceling the US Coast Gyard and Marquette county 131. UP Health System transported the Patient to the hospital.
Assisting the Marquette City Fire dept. at the scene was Marquette City Police, UP Health System, and Chocoaly Township fire. Ten firefighters responded to the call.
