As DCH continues to prepare for the possibility of having to treat COVID-19 positive patients, a portion of the second floor of the hospital is being prepped as a quarantined, COVID-19 treatment area.
As a result, the infusion and chemotherapy infusion treatment areas that are currently located on the second floor of the hospital are being temporarily relocated.
All patients are being notified of the move in advance and these necessary medical treatments will continue uninterrupted. Please remember that prior to receiving care; all patients will have to have a health evaluation performed at one of the four DCH entry checkpoints.
DCH has collected twenty-nine specimens that have been sent to be tested for COVID19. DCH has received fifteen test results, fourteen of the results are negative and one result was positive.
The one positive result is not a Dickinson County resident.
Dickinson County Healthcare System (DCH) did collect a specimen at their alternate collection site from a resident of Marinette County, Wisconsin. The specimen was sent out and the results were returned with a positive result.
At the time the specimen was collected the person was treated as a Person Under Investigation (PUI) and was sent home to quarantine. The person remains under quarantine and their COVID-19 test results have been communicated to them. Lab testing time continues to be delayed due to the high volumes of COVID-19 tests that have been sent in for testing. We will keep you updated as future test results are received.
Due to the highly contagious nature of COVID-19, any patients who are either Persons Under Investigation (PUI) or are confirmed positive COVID-19 will not be allowed visitors.
If you are sick and experiencing serious respiratory problems, please call your care provider or the DCH COVID-19 Hotline at 906-776-5858.
