The Marquette School Board will make it official on Thursday—elevated lead levels in school water supplies constitutes an official emergency. The meeting to consider the issue is set for 11:30 Thursday morning. High lead levels were recently discovered in older plumbing in some school district buildings. The school administration has promised to fix the problem before the start of school in September.
