Another major Upper Peninsula event has been cancelled because of the coronavirus, and the governor’s orders related to the pandemic.
Pioneer Days were scheduled for July 3rd through the 11th in Negaunee.
But the Negaunee Irontown Association announced Wednesday that the events will not happen this year after all. The governor’s orders on gatherings for July are still unknown, as are the City of Negaunee’s orders, so the Board of Directors concluded it was best to cancel the events…which typically draw big crowds.
The events usually include the Pioneer Princess Pageant , an alumni softball tournament, and fireworks over Teal Lake.
