Michigan Adds Two New Deaths; New Case In Alger County

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported Wednesday afternoon that the state’s number of coronavirus cases increased by 204 new cases, and there were two new deaths since Tuesday.

Michigan now has 60,393 confirmed positive cases and 5,792 COVID-19 deaths.

Michigan also tracks “probable” cases and deaths. Those are people who do not have a positive test result confirmed, but health officials believe their illnesses or deaths were related to COVID-19.

As of Wednesday, the state lists an addition 6,164 cases and 244 deaths in the “probable” category.

There was one new U.P. case reported on Wednesday: in Alger County.

There have been 129 confirmed positive cases and 16 deaths linked to COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula since the crisis began in mid-March.

There have also been six “probable” cases listed in the Upper Peninsula.

As of Wednesday, Michigan has completed 998,504 tests, including 132,227 tests for antibodies and 866,277 diagnostic tests.
