The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported Tuesday afternoon 454 new coronavirus cases and ten new deaths.
The state also went back through death certificates and matched 20 more deaths to people who had previous positive COVID-19 results.
Michigan now has 66,627 confirmed positive cases and 6,005 COVID-19 deaths.
There were ten new cases reported Tuesday in the Upper Peninsula, with seven of them in Marquette County. There was one case each reported in Dickinson, Menominee, and Chippewa Counties.
There have now been 219 confirmed positive cases and 18 deaths linked to COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula in the three-and-a-half months of this pandemic.
Michigan also tracks “probable” cases and deaths. Those are people who do not have a positive test result confirmed, but health officials believe their illnesses or deaths were related to COVID-19.
As of Tuesday, the state lists an additional 7,273 cases and 246 deaths in the “probable” category.
The state now lists 52,891 people as having “recovered”. This means that they are still alive at least 30 days after having a positive test confirmed, or being diagnosed with COVID-19.
There have also been eleven “probable” cases listed in the Upper Peninsula.
As of Tuesday, the state completed 1,367,713 tests, including 173,395 tests for antibodies and 1,194,318 diagnostic tests.
