The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported Tuesday afternoon 584 new coronavirus cases and six new deaths.
Michigan now has 70,306 confirmed positive cases and 6,081 COVID-19 deaths.
There were ten new cases reported in the Upper Peninsula on Tuesday, plus three cases in Dickinson County that had been reported locally Monday but did not appear in Monday’s state report.
There were four new cases reported in Menominee County. There was one new case each reported in Baraga, Chippewa, Dickinson, Gogebic, Keweenaw, and Marquette Counties.
There have now been 282 confirmed positive cases and 19 deaths linked to COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula in the nearly four months of this pandemic.

Michigan also tracks “probable” cases and deaths. Those are peopUpple who do not have a positive test result confirmed, but health officials believe their illnesses or deaths were related to COVID-19.
As of Tuesday, the state lists an additional 7,558 cases and 245 deaths in the “probable” category.
There have been 20 “probable” cases listed in the Upper Peninsula.
As of Tuesday, the state completed 1,539,360 tests, including 186,178 tests for antibodies and 1,353,182 diagnostic tests.
The state lists 53,867 people as having “recovered”. This means that they are still alive at least 30 days after having a positive test confirmed, or being diagnosed with COVID-19. That is an increase of 976 recoveries in the last week.
