Governor Gretchen Whitmer today announced the following appointments to the Commission on Services to the Aging, and to the Michigan Board of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons.
Commission on Services to the Aging
Mark G. Bomberg, of Gladstone, is the former director of the U.P. Long-Term Care Division for the Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress, where he retired after 34 years of service in 2018. Mr. Bomberg volunteers with the Delta County United Way and Rotary Club. He holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. Mr. Bomberg is reappointed to represent Republicans for a term commencing July 29, 2020 and expiring July 28, 2023.
The Commission on Services to the Aging advises the Governor and Legislature on coordination and administration of state programs, changes in federal and state programs, and the nature and magnitude of aging priorities. The Commission also reviews and approves grants made by OSA and participates in development of the state plan and budget as required by the federal Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended.
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
Michigan Board of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons
Christopher M. Germain, of Escanaba, is a realtor with Premier Real Estate, Inc., president of the Upper Peninsula Association of Realtors, and a captain with the Ford River Township Fire Department. He holds an Institute One Certification from Holloway’s Real Estate Institute. Mr. Germain is appointed to represent real estate brokers and salespersons for a term commencing July 17, 2020 and expiring June 30, 2021. He succeeds Sara Storch-Lipnitz who has resigned.
The Michigan Board of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons was created to license and regulate the practice of real estate brokers and salespersons in Michigan. The Board works with the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to oversee the practice of real estate salespersons, associate real estate brokers, real estate brokers, and branch offices.
