Health Departments Warn Virus Is ‘Accelerating’ Across U.P.

A warning from six Upper Peninsula health departments: the coronavirus is accelerating its spread across the U.P.

The departments say we were lulled into a “false sense of security” by numbers of cases being low until recently. Officials add that people have not been social distancing and have not been wearing a mask in public.

Also, an increase of travelers bringing the virus to the U.P. is another factor.

The departments now say it’s more important now than it was back in April and May to stay home, and to limit travel both locally and otherwise, to the essentials.
