The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Saturday began clearing up a backlog of coronavirus test results that were not entered into the system on Friday because of technical issues.
MDHHS on Saturday reported 953 new cases. It was unclear how many of them were delayed results, but officials say the tests will be assigned to the proper day’s total on the dashboard.
The state also reported three new deaths. And oifficials went through death certificates and matched them to previous positive test results. They added eight more deaths to the state’s total.
Michigan now has 96,024 confirmed positive tests and 6,389 deaths due to COVID-19.
The state also reported nearly 5,000 more recoveries on Saturday. The MDHHS says that 72,580 people have recovered, which means they are still alive at least 30 days after diagnosis or onset. That’s an additional 4,802 recoveries in the past week. This is updated every Saturday.
