The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 799 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, and 14 new deaths.
State officials also went through death certificates and matched them with previous positive test results. They added seven more deaths to the state’s total.
Michigan now has 101,478 positive test results since the crisis began five months ago, and 6,467 total deaths.
The state on Saturday also updated the total of people who have recovered from COVID-19. The MDHHS says that 72,580 people have recovered, which means they are still alive at least 30 days after diagnosis or onset. This is 3,571 more recoveries than in the last report.
The state crossed the three million mark for total tests conducted on Saturday. Michigan has completed 3,005,991 tests. Of those, 2,749,406 tests are diagnostic tests, and 256,585 tests were for antibodies.
The MDHHS did not provide a county-by-county update on Saturday.
As of Friday, the U.P. had 946 total cases since the crisis began five months ago, and 18 deaths. The last death reported in the U.P. was on June 26 in Iron County. Before that, the most recent death was on May 24, in Marquette County.
Statewide as of Thursday, there have been 10,497 “probable” cases, and 278 deaths are listed as probable. This is where COVID-19 is suspected, but there is no positive test result to confirm it.
As of Thursday, the Upper Peninsula’s ten hospitals had a combined nine COVID patients, plus four in intensive care units.
The Upper Peninsula has had 143 “probable” cases reported as of Friday.
