The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 441 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, and one new death.
The state now has had 107,812 total positive tests and 6,539 COVID-related deaths since the crisis began nearly six months ago.
The U.P. had 1,156 total cases since the crisis began five months ago, and 19 deaths.
The Upper Peninsula added seven new cases on Tuesday: two in Marquette County, and one each in Chippewa, Delta, Dickinson, Gogebic, and Houghton Counties.
The state has not updated hospitalization data since last Thursday.
At that time, the Upper Peninsula had no COVID patients in the Intensive Care Unit and a total of eight patients among the ten U.P. hospitals. Seven of those are in the Aspirus system in the western U.P. and the other was at U.P. Health System.
Michigan also has 11,090 “probable” cases and 272 “probable deaths”. This is where COVID-19 is suspected, but there is no positive test result to confirm it.
The Upper Peninsula had 179 probable cases as of Tuesday.
The state crossed the three million mark for diagnostic tests on Tuesday, and has done nearly 3.3 million total tests when antibody tests are added.
As of Tuesday, Michigan had done 3,278,350 total tests, with 3,013,356 of them diagnostic tests and 264,994 anitbody tests.
The state says 80,678 people have recovered from COVID-19. That is defined by being alive at least 30 days from diagnosis or onset of the illness. That number is updated every Saturday
