The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,308 new coronavirus cases on Monday and eight new deaths.
These are totals from Sunday and Monday combined.
Michigan now has 122,735 positive test results since the crisis began back in March, and 6,731 deaths.
According the MDHHS report, the Upper Peninsula added 129 new positive tests on Monday, which is a combined Sunday and Monday total. The U.P. had 1,279 total positive tests and 28 deaths.
The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department announced three new deaths in Iron County on Monday. The Dickinson and Iron County numbers are not yet included in the state report listed below. Delta County reported one new death, which was included in the state report.
Baraga County recorded its first COVID death over the weekend.
Delta County had 55 new positive tests on Monday and one new death. Dickinson County had 12 new cases.
Houghton County added 20 cases, Menominee County had 17 new positive tests, and Marquette County had 13 new cases.
The state also has 12,967 “probable cases” and 320 “probable deaths” that are not confirmed by a positive test result, but COVID-19 is believed to be the cause. The U.P. also had 326 probable cases and no probable deaths.
The state says that 95, 051 people have recovered from the virus. This is defined as being alive 30 days after the positive test or diagnosis. This will be updated again next Saturday.
The U.P.’s ten hospitals, as of Monday, were caring for a combined 17 COVID patients, and there were eight others in intensive care units. OSF Saint Francis Hospital and U.P. Health System both have six patients plus three patients each in the intensive care unit.
