The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday reported 1,407 new positive test results and 15 new deaths.
Those are combined unmbers from Sunday and Monday because the state doesn’t issue reports on Sunday anymore.
Michigan now has 128,923 positive test results since the crisis began back in March, and 6,816 deaths. The state also has 13,803 “probable cases” and 323 “probable deaths” that are not confirmed by a positive test result, but COVID-19 is believed to be the cause.
The Upper Peninsula added 129 cases on Monday, with 36 of them in Delta County and 34 in Houghton County. Menominee County reported 23 new positive tests and Marquette County added 13.
Three new deaths were reported: two in Delta County and one in Iron County.
The U.P. now has 2,860 total cases since the crisis began in March. There have been 42 deaths reported in the U.P. during the pandemic.
The U.P.’s ten hospitals, as of Thursday, were caring for a combined 34 COVID patients, and there were ten other patients in intensive care units, for a total of 44. This has not been updated since last Thursday.

The U.P. also has had 420 probable cases and one probable death.
The state says that 99, 521 people have recovered from the virus. This is defined as being alive 30 days after the positive test or diagnosis. That is an increase of more than 4,200 recoveries in the past week.
